A quick spin around the White Trail in Glendalough.

The recent bad weather has done some damage to the paths and trails around Glendalough. The bridge connecting the Green Road and the Monastic City has been swept away, some parts of the Miners' Road have collapsed and been swept into the Upper Lake and the Miners' Village was under about 2cm of water (the Glenealo River was very swollen - probably caused by melting snow).
Consigli:
I always follow this route in the opposite direction to that set out in most trail guides - down the Miners' Road to Van Diemen's Land, up into Glenealo Valley and then back to Glendalough along The Spinc. This avoids the painful climb up the steps to The Spinc (the climb is definitely easier from the Glenealo side) and gives me time to warm up the legs before have to make any ascents.

The best way to get to Glendalough is by car. You can also get there using the St Kevin's Bus although you will only just about have enough time to complete this circuit and make the bus home.
