This is a great family hike in Southern New Hampshire to a rocky summit with views in all directions. It can easily be done in a half day. Your kids will have a ton of fun rock hopping their way to the summit on the steep trail. This is a very popular climb just north of very populated cities so you probably won't be alone on the trail.
Trailhead on Poole Memorial Road
Take exit 5 off of I-89 and follow Route 202/9 14.3 miles to the split onto just 202. After another 30 miles when you get to Jaffrey take a right on to Route 124 and follow it just over 2 miles to take a right onto Dublin Road for another 1.2 miles to you get to Poole Road. Take a left and continue about a mile to the parking lot.
There is a state park fee to park here for the day. I believe it is around $5.
At 3,094 feet you are at the summit of Mt. Monadnock. You probably won't be alone if it is a sunny summer day. Take the time to relax i the sun and take lots of photos, then head back down the same way you came up.
