Restaurant at Verdun Airfield
Restaurant caters to local working people in nearby village and residents. Pilots from all over France land there for their 10 euro lunch and fuel uptake.
Beware, Avgas 100LL fuel is available only with Totalcard; or cash if club pilot with Totalcard is willing to use his card and take cash.
Landed at Verdun airfield; Restaurant is simple, service superb, food very good, freshly cooked, well served, friendly owner. Very reasonable price. Will certainly land there again just for lunch. Local pilots and residents and local workers go there for their lunch... that's saying something in France.
Good food, quick friendly service and reasonable prices, no pretensions! What more can one ask for in French restaurant.
From the airfield, you can visit Verdun town, where there are memorials to the War dead from the Great War 1914 - 1918. The town is about 10 minutes by taxi; you could probably find a club pilot willing to give you a lift into town.
Not too far to the south of Verdun airfield you could fly to Nancy Essey airfield. Nancy was the capital of the kingdom of Lorraine. The city centre has the grand palace of Lorraine with its square and boulevard.
