A short hike in Arches National Park to Utah's most recognizable arch
Your trip to Arches National Park is not complete without first taking a trip to visit Delicate Arch. You will likely recognize Delicate Arch from the Utah license plate. The hike to Delicate Arch is just over 1.5 miles each way, totaling 3.2 miles all together. It is best hiked in spring and fall when the temperatures are cooler, or during the golden...
Take a tour of the best formations of Arches National Park
Devils Garden is the second most-visited section of Arches National Park, after Delicate Arch, and home to the longest trail in the park: a 7.2-mile loop touring 7 different arches, all spectacular. Many visitors hike the shortened version of the loop: 1 mile along a paved path to Landscape Arch, with 2 short optional detours to Tunnel Arch and Pine...
An easy hike to see three massive arches up close in Arches National Park
This short hike is a great way to first see the park on foot. The entire trail is gravel and there is only a very slight gain of elevation. First head to North WIndow where you can walk under the arch and stare up and the massive rock above. Then loop around to the South Windows where you will see a couple more arches. These windows are higher up...

Fiery Furnace is a very cool place in Arches National Park. The formations you are hiking through are called fins. There are no maps available for this section, nor are there trails. In order to go into Fiery Furnace you either go along with a ranger guided tour, or go buy a permit for the area. The only restriction is you have to watch your step. There...
Fiery Furnace Trail is one of best trails in Arches National Park. But up front reservation is required for the hike.
We woke up Friday morning and drove through the park on a bright and sunny day--much better than the day before. We started off at the Devils Garden Trailhead and stopped at all of the arches along the way: Tunnel Arch, Pine Tree Arch, Landscape Arch, Partition Arch, Navajo Arch, Wall Arch (which recently fell), Double O Arch, which we climbed up on, and Dark Angel. We decided to take the long...
Jake and I hiked up to Delicate Arch. I was brilliant and forgot to turn on the GPS on the way up. Luckily I remembered when I got to the top. Unluckily I hurt my knee on the way back down. Shucks.
This was an easy hike in Arches National Park, Utah. It was VERY crowded.
Delicate Arch
Starting Point: Wolfe Ranch parking area
Length: 3 miles (4.8 km) round trip
Time: 1.5 hours (max. for the whole trip)
Elevation change: 480 feet (146 meters)
Take at least 1 quart (1 liter) of water per person! There is no shade.
Open slickrock with some exposure to heights. The first half-mile is a
wide, well-defined trail. Upon reaching the slickrock, follow the rock
cairns. The trail climbs gradually and levels out toward the top of
this rock face....
On my way back from Colorado, I did this short hike to the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah. Since dogs were not allowed on trails in the park, I left my weimeraner Jade in the car. I flew up to the top to snap a few pictures and returned to the parking lot just before sunset.
This was our first day hike for our trip. On the devils garden trail you will see several arches. These included Tunnel Arch, Pine Tree Arch, Landscape Arch, Partition Arch, Navajo Arch, and Double O Arch. There is a primitive trail you can take back, and on that trail is the Private Arch.
There is also a segment to hike out to Dark Angel. When we went there were some crowds, but as...
One of the great wonders that everyone should see.
Landscape Arch - Wall Arch - Double O Arch - Private Arch (via primitive trail)
The sun broke out of the clouds so that we could get this hike in before it got dark. The hike wasn't too far, but we were racing daylight, so we had to hurry a bit. Delicate arch was definitely worth the hike at the end of the day. In the sunset, the lighting was great and brought out some beautiful colors in the arch.
We hiked to the Delicate Arch on April 13, 2012. On the hike were Zac, Bryce, Jeremy, Tara, and Savannah. The parking lot was completely full, so we had to park on the shoulder of the road in the no parking zone.Remnants of the PastA short walk up the trail brings you to the Wolfe cabin. John Wesley Wolfe and his son Fred settled on the banks of Salt Wash around 1898....
Tunnel Arch, Pine Tree Arch, Landscape Arch, Navajo Arch, Partition Arch, Double O Arch
Track is a bit screwy due to the terrain (canyons, tight spaces between rocks)
